A Crisis Called Covid-19
We are still here and working through the many different scenarios surrounding Covid-19. In a post 9-11 world no one foresaw a biological crisis affecting the entire world the way that Covid-19 has. Our lives have changed overnight. There is a look in many people’s eyes. It is a look of surreal disbelief. Many cannot wrap their head around what it means to live in this new world.
For many there is a great sense of gratitude that prevails. They are grateful to be alive and have their families intact. For others, they are quietly awaiting the news for results of a test that could prove to signal the end of their very existence. No one wants to get that news.
This crisis has brought out the best and worst in people. Who would have thought that we would be standing in line for our ration of toilet paper? Who would have thought that people would be wrestling over the last loaf of bread? No one saw the day that their local 24-hour Walmart would reduce hours for an indefinite period due to severe food shortages across the entire country. Dramatic changes have taken place and life as we know it will never be the same.
The Church continues to grow in the knowledge and glory of God but there are some in the Church who choose to fight God at every turn. They fight Him over doctrines and teachings that bear little relevance to what God is actually doing with Covid-19. On the rare occasion that the Church speaks the mind of God someone in the Church feels a compulsion to explain away what was said. This adds confusion and stumbling blocks to the weaker brothers and sisters in the Lord.
The best thing to do is use the faith that God has given you. Trust Him in all that you do and follow Him with all you heart. It’s easy and very simple to do this. The truth of the matter is that Covid-19 is a crisis of major proportions. This crisis will not end overnight. It will only be God that says enough is enough and stays His hand of judgment.
